The entire Science Center is stroller-friendly, and there is even a mom's private nursing room in the lower level. Admission is free, but there is a charge for Space shows, Omnimax movies, and the Discovery Room. The Discovery Room is perfect for preschoolers – with a water table, computers and building toys. There are four concession areas and a gift shop. MOM tip: Parking is free on the Forest Park/Planetarium side of the museum. | 707 North First Street, St. Louis, MO, 63102 Driving Directions The "Gateway to the West" stands over 600 feet tall, and is the country's largest manmade monument. The Museum of Westward Expansion is stroller-friendly, and gives a glimpse into the lives of Lewis and Clark. You can ride to the top in the tram for a fee, and look out over the river and downtown Saint Louis. MOM tip: If you have a big group, skip the ticket line and buy tickets online before you go. |

Zagat Surveys’ U.S. Family Travel Guide named The Magic House the number one attraction for child appeal. Check out the schedule for toddler art, science and music programs, too. MOM tip: Free Family Night, sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, is held on the third Friday of every month. Families can visit the Magic House free of charge from 5:30 to 9 p.m. | One Fine Arts Drive, Forest Park, St. Louis, MO 63110 Driving Directions The museum and its galleries are stroller-friendly, and kids can view over 30,000 works of art. Sundays are a great day to visit, since kids can drop by the sculpture hall from 1:00-4:00 pm for free hands-on art activities. And, you can meet at the Information Center at 2:30 pm for a 30-minute family tour of the museum. MOM tip: Admission to the museum is free every day. Admission fees to featured exhibitions vary; admission to featured exhibitions is always free on Fridays. | 
701 North 15th Street, St. Louis, MO 63103 Driving Directions Get ready for a huge adventure! This museum has 4 stories of sculpted "playgrounds" for all ages. There is a toddler room, an art room, an aquarium, a human skate park, a glass studio, a circus, caves, slides, tunnels . . . the list goes on and on. Although there are elevators, this did not make the stroller-friendly list, since your kids will be going where strollers can't fit. MonstroCity is an outdoor scultpture exhibit suspended above the parking lot. It feels like a huge jungle gym for kids, but adults will want to play along, too. MOM tip: Bring flashlights to navigate the tunnels and caves, but don't bring much else - you'll have to drag it around as you chase the kids. Wear long pants and tennis shoes, since you may be crawling around a lot! | 
2967 Barrett Station Road, St. Louis, MO 63122 Driving Directions The Creation Station is now in a new building behind the Museum of Transport welcome center. It's an indoor play area for kids under 5. Kids can make a craft, dress-up, play in a wooden ship, and put on a puppet show. The room is large enough for kids to spread out, but parents can easily keep an eye on everyone. Check the Web site for "boarding times" and prices. 11715 Cragwold Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122 Driving Directions New indoor exhibits are now open. Kids can tour an indoor treehouse, peek at fish in an aquarium, and study honey bees as they come indoors through tubes to a hive. There's a relaxing area for watching birds and squirrels visit feeders just outside the window. Kids can also grab an interactive guide and pencil before a hike on the trails - and return it to the welcome desk for a prize. MOM tip: Perfect activity for a rainy day! |
Take a tour of a beautiful church with an amazing mosaic ceiling. Volunteers lead tours at 1 p.m. weekdays. Check the Web site for daily Mass schedule. MOM tip: Strollers would be fairly easy, although there are a few steps near the altar. | 
730 Carroll St, Saint Louis, MO 63104 Driving Directions This market has been around since 1779, and there are more than 140 booths with fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meats, herbs and more. It is open Wednesday through Saturday all year. MOM tip: Make sure to plug those meters even on Saturday. Check the Web site for parking tips. | 
24 Front Street, Valley Park, MO 63088 Driving Directions The Whittle Shortline Railroad makes handcrafted wooden trains and track, and they sell their full line at this shop in Valley Park. Take your kids for a visit, and they can play with wooden trains on a 14-foot train table. They also have 4 smaller tables for little engineers. And, the kids will probably have the chance to run to the windows and watch a freight train roll by just across the street. No outside food is allowed, but they do sell juice boxes, snacks and drinks in the shop. MOM tip: They take care of all the details of great birthday parties for kids 1-6. Also, check out the new "family fun nights" on the 2nd Friday of each month - admission charge for kids over 18 months. |
